The Guy That Filmed Erin Andrews Pleads Not Guilty!?

 Now I'm sure that everyone has heard about this case: Michael Barrett films ESPN reporter Erin Andrews in the shower through a peephole at several hotels. Well, as that litigation progressed, Michael Barrett defiantly pleaded not guilty. Erin Andrews, the ex Florida Gators Dazzlers dancer, is obviously a very attractive and talented reporter for ESPN. Michael Barrett, on the other hand, is a 48 year old insurance executive pervert. On several occasions, he checked out hotel rooms that were located right next to Erin Andrews' hotel rooms. He created peepholes and filmed her in the shower. It happened at least three times. His biggest mistake was trying to sell the footage to TMZ. My only question is why did he plead guilty?

 Now everyone knows that pretty much any defendant is going to plead guilty and try to drag out a lawsuit as long as possible unless whatever they are accused of is blatantly obvious. I feel like this is one of those cases where there is such strong evidence against Barrett that he might as well throw in the towel. He is going to drag this out and not only embarrass himself, but Erin Andrews as well. Everyone knows he did it. He faces what, 5 years in prison and a hefty fine? In a case like this it's pretty clear to see what the verdict is going to be. The jury is going to rip this guy apart. He posted $100,000 bail and now he's just drawing more attention to himself. I just feel like this is one of those cases where you just need to plead guilty and take the inevitable sentencing. It gets kind of annoying when cases like this get dragged out. There's no need for a hearing. I don't know how everyone else feels, but I feel like this guy is an idiot and is hoping for some legal magic. Granted, it is a possibility that he gets his sentence reduced, I feel like the pragmatic approach would be just to cut to the chase and start discussing sentencing. How do all of you feel about this?
